Nigeria vs Serbia: Nigerians react to Super Eagles’ 2-0 loss, apportion blames

Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the Super Eagles 2-0 loss to Serbia on Tuesday.

The football fans also picked out defender, Chigozie Awaziem as the worst player on the pitch last night.

They were extremely unhappy with the performance of the Nantes defender who was a last-minute replacement for Leon Balogun.

Nigeria has conceded six goals in the last three matches Awaziem has started.

Here are the reactions of some Nigeria football fans on twitter:

@TheOddSolace: ”Awaziem had a shocker. Idowu actually did well tonight, I feel.”

@yankiedudu: ”It has shown we do not have back up for Leon Balogun and Troost Ekong partnership and that Awaziem is notvmature to be in that @NGSuperEagles team and surely the back line missed @OfficialShehu today Because the two goals came from his side.”

@tayOgunseye: “Awaziem & Agu have never been and will never be a @NGSuperEagles material!”

@EnkayIgwe: ”Awaziem and co think they are doing us, they are doing themselves #NGASRB.”

@temitayoojotayo: ”Awaziem isn’t super eagles material at all.”

@oge_jenny : ”That Troost-Ekong & Awaziem partnership in centre-back ‘no work’ at all.

@jollofricejim: ”We need Mikel. Awaziem isn’t starting centre back quality.”

@kayblow76: ”Chidozie Awaziem. Is he a good player and what club does he play for? Didn’t recognize some of the Eagles players on show today. I think he’s one of the unknown faces.”

Chiscodedon12 : ”Awaziem has been given chances twice but he failed to prove himself.”

Derek74399105: ”Awaziem is a baby defender. Simple as ABC.”

@Steinzen: ”Awaziem was destroyed by Mitrovic.”

@Ugothings: ”Awaziem has no business in the @NGSuperEagles.”

@VinSoretire: “I beg, who is this Chigozie Awaziem??…’na footballer abi na barber, make dis one no near World Cup train’.”
