The coalition of All Progressives congress leaders and stakeholders in Imo state, led by Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and Senator Osita Izunaso, have said that, they were unaware of any court order stopping the Imo APC state congress holding today (Saturday).
Veloxnews had reported that a Federal High Court in Owerri, Imo state, had ordered the All Progressives Congress (APC) to refrain from conducting Saturday’s congress or any other congress in Imo, pending the determination of a suit filed by Barrister Mbagwu Augustine and four others against the APC and 10 others.
Reacting on the purported court order stopping the APC state congress in Imo State in a phone interview with Veloxnews on Saturday morning, the spokesman of the coalition and former Commissioner of Information in the state, Chief Vitalis Ajumbe, explained that the coalition had not received or served with any court order, saying that the state congress would hold today as scheduled by the National leadership of the party.
Ajumbe who is also the Director of Contact and Mobilization of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume Campaign Organization, reiterated the resolve of APC leaders in the state, not to allow Governor Rochas Okorocha and his cohorts to destroy APC.
According to the APC chieftain,”We are not aware of any court order stopping the APC state congress in Imo. We are not aware until we are served”.
“It could be concocted story by the governor and his supporters. The congress is holding today (Saturday).
“We have not received any court order or served with court order. I’m just hearing from you now.”
“All party leaders and stakeholders are set for the state congress today. The governor and his people would not be allowed to thwart the internal democracy existing in the APC fold in Imo State,” he said.
