Former Super Eagles head coach, Christian Chukwu has told Nigerians to worry less about the performance of the team in the international friendly against Serbia on Tuesday.
Chukwu said the team will get better and also have the potential to have a respectable outing at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Gernot Rohr’s men put up a below-par showing in Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Serbia.
Most football lovers now doubt how far the team can go in Russia with two-time world champions, Argentina, Croatia and Iceland their group stage opponents.
But Chukwu pointed out that there was no need to worry yet and stated that the team have what it takes to do well at the tournament.
”I don’t think there is need to press the panic botton yet. Friendly matches are meant to prepare the team and work on the weaknesses,” Chukwu told CSN.
“It is good we are noticing some of these things now as there is still enough chance to work on them.
“There is enough quality in the team to do well at the World Cup and I believe we’ll get it right,” he added.
