Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard has predicted that the dream of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to reach the final stage of this year’s Champions League is possible when they battle Roma in Tuesday’s first leg semi-final clash at Anfield.
Lampard stated that Klopp’s men can only reach the final of the Champions League if they approached the Italian giants the way they played against Manchester City in the quarter-finals stage.
The former midfield maestro, however, said he expects Klopp’s side to carry a lead back to the Italian capital for the second leg booked for next week Wednesday.
“I expect Liverpool to approach the first leg the same way they did against Manchester City in the quarter-final,” Lampard told Evening Standard.
“They are a team with structure – hours have been spent perfecting the system. Liverpool know their strengths – they counter-attack brilliantly and move the ball quickly.
“If they replicate what they did against Manchester City when they won 3-0, I expect them to carry a lead back to the Italian capital.
“If they don’t concede, I expect them to go through.”
