Wife of Borno guber aspirant, Tarba set free after 30 days in detention

Wife of a Borno State 2019 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial aspirant, Comrade Grema Terab, and 19 other family members were on Monday granted bail after 30 days in detention.

Hajiya Saadatu Muhammad and others were arrested after a political meeting in Maiduguri on Sunday, 15th April, 2018.

It was gathered that Hajiya Mohammed, who was heavily pregnant, subsequently suffered a miscarriage due to alleged maltreatment by men of the force.

The news of her release was disclosed by her husband, Comrade Terab on his Facebook page.

The post read “We thank you all for your support and prayers at these trying times. We remain grateful for your show of courage in the face of injustice and the tyranny of the oppressors.

“Today Monday 14th May 2018, My wife Sa’adatu, My Comrade Friend & brother Yusuf Galtimari, My Comrade Brother Abubakar Terab and 18 other family members have been granted bail by Justice Abdullahi Sanya of the state High Court after about 30 days of detention for a crime they know nothing about.

“Indeed the path to Justice might be slow and thorny but surely & certainly, with patients & perseverance, the greatest of heights are within reach.

“Our profound gratitude again for everyone who had in one way or the other contributed to this cause, indeed it has reaffirmed my faith in humanity. I ask the almighty to bless us all. Amin.”
