Following the successful performance of Wakaa the Musical in Abuja in 2017, Fela and the Kalakuta Queens started hitting Abuja stage yesterday and will continue today and tomorrow, Sunday, June 10 at the NAF Centre, Abuja, after NEXT Cash and Carry, KADO.
In attendance at last year’s performance of Wakaa the Musical in Abuja, were Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, members of the Federal Executive Council and the National Assembly, diplomats and hundreds of students in attendance, there has been continuous call for repeat performance in Abuja.
The Lagos stage of Fela and the Kalakuta Queens, which many considered an unprecedented feat in Nigeria’s stage theatrical performance, had over 20,000 people in attendance, including students, CEOs, ambassadors, royalty and top government official.
Produced and directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, Fela and the Kalakuta Queens will be showing at the NAF Centre, Abuja, after NEXT Cash and Carry, KADO. The producers believe the historic and cultural production would be well received in Abuja.

Fela and the Kalakuta Queens was performed early in the week for the United Nations World Tourism Organization Conference at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, on Monday, June 4, in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture.
There were about 23 African Ministers of Cultures in attendance with over 160 delegates from across Africa and the world.
