The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has claimed that the current face-off between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), will work in their favour ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.
The SDP National Secretary, Alhaji Shehu Gabam, stated this on Wednesday while fielding questions from newsmen, during a retreat for state party chairmen in Abuja.
Gabam insisted that Ekiti people were already tired of the APC and the PDP.
“SDP will sweep the poll with a bang; just watch out. We are going to spring surprises by sweeping the poll.
“The people of Ekiti State are tired of PDP, APC and others. They are seeing us as their messiah and we shall not fail them, come Saturday. Our candidate, Yemi Ayegbusin, a seasoned banker will be victorious and become the next governor of the state.
“SDP will gain a lot of sympathizers with the increasing feud between the leading political parties in the state, the PDP and the APC. Our candidate is not controversial as the candidates of the two political parties. The goodwill will work for us,” he said.
